JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide guidance on all accounting and finance issues, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls and fraud prevention systems.
• Prepare financial statements, lead fiscal year-end closure, and collaborate with independent auditors to coordinate annual audits.
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of five accounting professionals, fostering collaboration and excellence.
• Support grant management operations, ensuring donor compliance and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage bank accounts, maintain liquidity for operations, and prepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts and bank balances.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and a bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration (required).
• 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a diverse team.
• Expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and auditing, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex financial concepts to all levels, including non-finance managers.
• Experience in nonprofit or public accounting (preferred), with a commitment to mentoring and retaining a diverse team.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct software (a plus), combined with personal integrity, credibility, and a proactive, strategic outlook.
