About the Role:
Were on the hunt for a dynamic Construction Associate Attorney to join the hive on behalf of our client in Nashville. In this role youll work with owners and developers on complex construction projects from start to finish handling both transactional and litigation matters. If you have a strong foundation in construction law and are eager for career growth within a respected firm we want to meet you!

Your Mission:

• Represent Owners & Developers: Provide legal support for clients in complex construction projects including planning negotiation and completion phases (transactional and litigation experience client representation).
• Defend Against Construction Disputes: Address issues such as delay claims liens compensation and quality of work with experience in courtroom and deposition settings (construction litigation dispute resolution).
• Oversee Construction Transactions: Manage legal aspects of project design contract negotiation and construction execution (transactional expertise project planning).
• Excel in Legal Drafting: Prepare clear detailed legal documents for both transactional and litigation cases (writing skills legal drafting).

Core Competencies:

• Construction Disputes: Knowledge of defending against claims related to project delays liens and other construction issues.
• Transactional Expertise: Skilled in the legal aspects of project planning negotiation and execution phases.
• Courtroom & Deposition Experience: Experience representing clients in court and during depositions preferred.
• Legal Writing: Highlevel writing ability with experience drafting complex legal documents.

What You Bring:

• Qualifications: JD with a minimum of 14 years experience in construction law handling both transactional and litigation matters.
• Construction Background: Prelaw experience or prior career in construction preferred but not required.
• Additional Skills: Strong academic credentials with a required transcript plus exceptional communication analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Writing Skills: Proven experience with complex legal drafting in construction contexts including a required writing sample.

Skills Required:

• Construction Law: Project negotiation planning contract law
• Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Defense against construction claims courtroom presence
• Transactional Law: Contract negotiation project design construction agreements
• Legal Drafting: Detailed legal writing for both litigation and transactions

Certifications:

• State Bar of Tennessee (required)
• Additional construction law certifications a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
